Paul Bourgine

Paul Bourgine is Associate Professor of Molecular Skeletal Biology at Lund University and Principal Investigator of the Laboratory for Bone Organ Modeling and Regeneration. He trained in biotechnology at the École Supérieure de Biotechnologie de Strasbourg. He established the Bourgine Lab at Lund University in 2018.

His research focuses on bone as an integrated organ system, from the molecular identity and function of BM-MSCs to the engineering of human tissue models and translatable regenerative strategies. Since founding the lab, he has secured prestigious national and international grants, including VR, ERC Starting and Consolidator grants, and an EIC consortium grant. Paul also co-founded Dhalion Biotech AB, the lab's spin-off company.

 

Paul is a WCMM Fellow and a member of the Lund Stem Cell Center, the Lund University Cancer Centre, and the StemTherapy national initiative.
